A little about me:
I have three children that keep us very busy. With school, hockey &
dance on top of my husband's and my own work schedules, sometimes we
can't seem to keep up!
My rabbits are my "happy place" apart from all of the other
responsibilities I have. Spending some time in the barn cuddling the
buns, "refreshes" me and makes me relax after trying to keep up with our
busy paced life. (Although doing chores again at the end of those long
days does seem daunting at times, but oh so worth it! ;)
Some day I plan to get to convention so I can marvel at the thousands of
rabbits... and do some SHOPPING!!! (The first place we are going however
is back to Disney World with the children.)
I am absolutely pathetic when it comes to rabbit genetics, and although
I would desire to know everything in this department, I still find
myself calling up my faithful "genetics" friends to see who to breed to
who if I feel like doing a color breeding. (Although I do like all
colors, no stressing here. Just pick the best buck best suited to the
best doe! VOILA! ;) |
My Blog

Have been working on updating more pics throughout site, but not enjoying
the quality of "indoor" photos! Bear with me :S I did several "boys"
pictures mostly of junior Frenchies. We went with a cowboy theme this
time :) Will work on "girls" pics today. Have to finish some more boy
pics though before we change our photo background! LOL!
Kesia delivered eight babies, so the nursery is still rockin'! China and
Armani are due too, so can't wait to see how they do. Holland buns
galore too, so I should have bunnies available for spring. They will be
old enough to show and old enough to know who's for sale too. OH! Got to
get the Mini Lops pics all updated too. Babes are growing!
Better run, photos are done uploading...
November 10, 2008
A quick note to let you know that I've updated some new pics throughout
the site... the new ones are all with the HUGE sunflowers in them! LOL!
(I obviously love sunflowers ;) I still need to update several pictures
but will get them up as time permits. Check out our new colorful
Frenchie litter of Rhianna's on the Frenchie nursery page. So excited to
have some tris/harlis coming too along with other adorable Hollands.
More buns coming due in both breeds soon too.
We still have some Mini Lops around. We have two very nice upcoming blue
steels... one buck, one doe. Growing out Arabia's litter with broken
sables/sable steels and a broken black. Cocaine also has two fancy
broken black bucks and an adorable chocolate doe! Need to get some of
those pics done too. With the cold weather now, it's so much harder to
get pics done. My countdown 'til the end of winter is on... :P
Better get updating the site!
November 5, 2008
Well, we had a big Halloween party and it was a blast! Lots of people...
there were four pirates (ranging from 3-45 ;) and three witches. Besides
that there was a Frankenstein, the Lone Ranger, a vampire, Medussa,
a Go-Go girl, a fashion star (with the biggest eyelashes imaginable), a
belly dancer, skeleton and a hockey player to name a few. The last of
the crew left at 3:30 AM so Vern and I never got to bed 'til 4 AM. Of
course, since it was a weekend and Connor thought there was farming to
do, he kindly woke us up at 6:30! So not much sleep for us :S I had the
house all decorated up and it looked great. We had lots of good food,
and some good drinks too ;) Kim brought some nuclear waste punch for the
adults and it was sure good! I made a huge gummy worm ice ring to put in
the kids swamp water and it looked pretty neat! We also had a huge bowl
of wormy dirt. (You know the chocolate pudding, layered with crushed
oreo cookies and gummy worms throughout) Since it was Lynn's birthday we
put some candles in it and wished her a happy birthday! I find it very
fitting that a witch would get a cake like that anyway on Halloween!
LOL! I've posted some of the pics on my Sony Moments page, so check them
out!
We woke up to snow this morning, much to my cries of distress ;) I HATE
winter! I shouldn't complain though, because we could have had this a
couple weeks ago, and the temperatures til now have been above normal.
The barn is pretty winterized already. We hauled in 208 straw bales into
the loft to help insulate it a bit. All the cages I had to renovate are
all up and operating and the barn is bursting with babies!!! I am so
happy to announce that our Gamroth's Rhianna, broken blue frenchie, has
delivered a fantastic, colorful litter for us! We have a blue buck, a
blue steel doe, an opal buck, a broken squirrel doe and TWO CREAMS!!!!
The solid cream is a buck and the broken a doe... unless I got that
mixed up. Of course, they are quite young, so I could be wrong with some
of the sexes, but couldn't help myself and had to check. We also have a
fancy litter of new Hollands. We have two beautifully marked harlis and
a TRI with tons of black spots! We also have a tort and a broken tort in
that litter. We'll have to see how cleanly marked the other three are
when they grow up a bit.
I've updated some Frenchie junior pics on the second juniors page. It's a
work in progress so more will be posted as I get more pics done. I have
some pics to put up throughout the whole site, so be sure to check out
all the pages!
October 20, 2008
I can't believe it is near the end of October already!!! Where does time
go? Kids are back in school and getting to that time when it's hard to
figure out what to dress them in... winter coats, fall coats, runners,
boots? Agh! Mom's would understand my dilemma :P
On Thanksgiving weekend Nicole came out for a visit! She drove all day
Friday so we could spend Saturday and Sunday together and then drove
back home on Monday. It was great to FINALLY visit her without a rabbit
show to keep us so busy. We chatted genetics (she is such a whiz ;) and
she showed me stuff on the computer. We spend lots of time with the
bunnies, and I think my love for Frenchies has rubbed off on her! LOL!
(Like it has nothing to do with the fantastic breed that they are :P)
Now that I got to meet her family and see her farm and bunnies when I
was at the Manitoba show, she has met my family and seen my farm too. I
am so happy she came :D Leslie also came out on Saturday for a visit, so
we all played with buns and gabbed up a storm. Leslie took home four
bunnies, two Hollands and two Frenchies, and Nicole took home two
Frenchies for herself and transported 5 more Frenchies to Tara and
Family in Regina. That was a HUGE help. Thanks Nicole for helping me
empty some holes! LOL! Eleven less rabbits on one weekend is sweet
:) This coming weekend, my Mom and I are going to Celine Dion in
Edmonton... front row seats! Since I have bunnies to transport there
anyways we decided to take in a concert :P Three Frenchies and a couple
minis. So the barn is getting settled and organized for winter with all
the sold rabbits getting to their new homes and some cages are slowly
getting renovated when I get a chance to spend some extra time outside.
We were supposed to have a few Frenchies coming due but
unfortunately only one caught. Rhianna, the beautiful, broken blue doe
is plucking up a storm, and we are so excited and patiently anticipating
the arrival of some Frenchie babes! Crossing my fingers all goes well :)
We have some new Holland babes right now. Tangerine has three cuties...
broken orange, chestnut and a frosty. Sweet colors :) Elaine has the
most adorable broken chestnut girl ever! She is also fostering Fancy's
babe. She is also so cute. Big head and short ears! They are
cruising around the cage now. Tini Martini, after several failed
attempts at having a live litter for us had three babes :) I told Nicole
to make sure I culled her if she was unsuccessful again. I had a "talk"
with Tini explaining the "situation" if she was unsuccessful again, and
it worked. (Crazy? Perhaps. But it worked ;) Not that I'm not thankful
that she is raising a litter, but they are all blue torts... my least
favorite color. However, I am willing to compromise by just being
happy they are alive :D Larkspur got told the same story as Tini,
however she didn't catch... is that the same as losing a litter?!? (I
know, I know... no more excuses) This doe has to go. I am not willing to
cull her so she is looking for a pet home. She is a sweet, small, gentle
and not to forget adorable blue doe looking for a home. If anybody is
interested, please let me know!
As you may notice, I am missing pics throughout the site. I got all
the new buns I have "acquired" listed but need to do a big photo shoot.
Nicole brought me two sweet Holland does. A chubby, chestnut named
Gingersnap and a pretty lil' harli doe named Luvlee. I also picked up a
couple orange does from Leah to breed to Little Foot and I also brought
home BMR's Marcus and PSP Macho Man. I will try get all their pics
posted soon.
I still have some Mini Lops for sale, and I'd like to move them before
winter. If anybody knows of anybody else looking for some, please
contact me. I'm willing to let them go super cheap just to find them
some homes!
Take care all!
September 26, 2008
Well, I've gotten ALL the Frenchie pics done that I needed to get done.
I've decided not to post nursey pics and pics of buns younger than 3ish
months because it is quite time consuming and they changet so
drastically during that time too. I will post their info though, so
people can see what's coming up :) With winter coming soon (gosh, did I
say the "W" word?!?) it's a lot harder to take nice pics, but will try
:P I like outdoor pics much better!
Better run and upload this site, so people can stop buggin' me :P Jokes!
Thanks for checkin' them out!
September 21, 2008
Well, we've survived all the traveling we did these past few weekends :)
We came back from the Manitoba show with Apple Spice bringing in her
second leg and Elaine bringing in her first leg. We showed three mini
lops of Posey's and they were the only ones there. The smoke pearl buck
Flick won a BEST IN SHOW under Cliff Dick and the REW doe Milky Way won
a BEST IN SHOW under Sande Drevlow (sp?)!!!! Awesome!!! I brought back a
few Hollands from Nicole's house too and they both came with some metal
too ;) The chestnut buck Steer Strong won two legs and Artika the frosty
doe won a Best of Breed leg! Nicole had a great show too with granding
both Riverside's Max and Cutie Patootie Rosco... CONGRATS NICOLE!!! I
ended up traveling to the show with Dale and Kaitlyn from Howling Madd
Rabbitry. It was a great chance to get to know them better and the
company was great making the trip go a lot quicker :)
The weekend after the show, I made my way to Robin's house to get
all the Frenchies. Lots of driving but such beautiful scenery! Oh, the
TREES! (I said it again Colette ;) I finally got to meet Robin face to
face and that's what makes a person finally "know" somebody. I find you
could talk forever on the phone about a million things, but until you
get to see a person's face that's when you "officially" know them! LOL!
I'll never forget the first words she said to me when I met her.... "Hey
Lady!" There's going to be a very special rabbit someday that will have
just that for a name :) I wanted to come home with her cool accent, but
I don't think I spent enough time there! LOL! Maybe if I talk to her
enough on the phone... HEY! I did say "OregIN" once or twice since going
there as opposed to the Canadian way of saying "OregON". (In my own
defense however that IS the way it is spelt right? ;)
The buns didn't disappoint of course, as Robin has so many
beautiful bunnies! I am so happy we went :) The barn is bursting with
beautiful Frenchies and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I think we
brought home about 41 rabbits. Two were Sarah's and Colette took some
too. (12ish of the total were little ones with mamas too.) I could go on
and on gushing about each rabbit but I'll do that on the main part of
the web site! LOL! I would like to thank Colette, my traveling partner,
for not hesitating when I asked if she wanted to make this trip with me.
(I knew I could count on her ;) And, of course, I would like to thank
Robin for offering me her beautiful animals :) I am honored to have them
and will try do her proud with working with them. I've asked her to help
"coach" me since they are her lines, so she can still take part without
the chores... and the shit (literally) :P (Can I say that on the
internet???) Seriously though, thanks Robin from the bottom of my heart
and I wish you all the best :)
Since I had bought the Mini Lops before I found out Robin was selling out
of Frenchies, I have decided that the Mini Lops are for sale. I've only
had them a short bit, a very short bit, but the timing was a little off.
If Robin wasn't selling out of Frenchies, the Mini's would have stayed
as they are fantastic, friendly animals. But since Frenchies are my
first and forever love I need to make room for the
new Frenchies. Thankfully though, Kim and Cristina are purchasing a trio
back. My fav's of the bunch, but at least we got two of them Best in
Show legs... so that's a bonus for them! The rest are posted for sale, so please
inquire if interested! Beautiful animals for sure, but I need to make
room.
As you will notice there are many, many new Frenchies listed on the site,
but it'll take me a while to get all the pics to go with. Be patient
with me, because I will try get more done as time permits. And any of
you that know what harvest is like, there's not much time! I'm just
concentrating on getting them all posted and then I will decide with
time if any will be available. Keep an eye on my site for updates and
possibly new for sale animals.
Better run, kids are in bed and my eylids are getting heavy ;) Night!
August 29, 2008
Can you believe that summer holidays are over already and the kids
first day of school is finally here?!? Can you also believe that even
though we had a hectic two months with three kids fighting and I still
miss them today?!? I know my older two in grade four and grade three are
fine, but it's my baby... my first grader... that I am feeling stressed
about :S He's my BABY and he goes to school every day this year. When I
told him that he will be going every day this fall his reply was,
"That's not good." HA! So cute my lil' Caden!
Well, I guess with school back, and the dreaded packing lunch
routine is also back, life will at least get some more routine.
Summer holidays are great but can be chaotic and perhaps we can settle
down now and life will be more predictable. Boring? Perhaps. But boring
is what we need right now :P Although I don't think my "boring" is
coming yet as the next three weekends for me are the busiest I've ever
had in my life. This coming weekend is camping with my parents and my
two brothers and their families. Not too hectic, we can handle that :P
The weekend after that, I'm off to Manitoba to their show. Looking
forward to seeing Nicole and getting to stay at her place and meet her
family and her bunnies too! Saves a bundle when a person has a place to
stay, and with the drive being 10 hourish, that'll cost enough ;) The
third weekend, I am going to Oregon to buy Robin Gamroth's Frenchies!
She has to sell out unfortunately, so I am honored to be able to
purchase many fantastic animals from her :) When she needs some bunnies
back, she'll know where to come. She is a wonderful friend, and is
offering us her best. The "plans" have miraculously fallen into place,
so this was definitely meant to be. I will be flying to Vancouver on the
19th of September where Colette will be picking me up from the airport.
She will drive us to Oregon to go bunny shopping and she will be driving
all of us ;) back to Saskatchewan!!! How cool is that?!? It turns out
she will have to return a trailer back to Saskatoon that she rented (this weekend) to move some
stuff from Saskatchewan to BC. I was praying to get my license back in
time to make this whole trip work as I was going to have to drive to BC
to meet Colette but now it turns out I don't have to drive at all :) Soooo excited... can't wait!
We will be picking up many animals so there is a possibility of there
being some Frenchies coming available after we get back. We will be getting a lot of fancy Frenchies
to add to our herd. Blueberry Delight will go to live with Nicole and
Chase as Blueberry's sis
will be replacing her here. Also a full sister to Creamsicle, although
different litter, is on her way here too. She's a solid fawn...
beautiful girl :) There's opals, fawn, chins, blacks, a lynx doe... and
a few does coming with litters too. As for numbers, don't know exactly 'til
I get there, although I had my eye on eighteen of my favorites. To help
Robin out too, I took the works, and will "share" with my traveling
partner Colette because of whom this trip was made MUCH MUCH simpler!
Her love of Frenchies has been long and as strong as mine, so they will
have fantastic homes with her too.
Because of all the new buns coming, I've been working on cages and
renovating our "lean to" on the barn to make 6 fancy floor stalls to
grow out some litters. The kids love to interact with them on the floor
as it is much simpler for them than when the buns are in cages. This way
the buns turn out extra friendly and are used to being petted and
carried around even more so. The kids also like when the bunnies follow
them around and try to chew on their shoes! LOL! (Caden lost his
dolphin's nose off of his dawg's when that silly lil' chin doe tracked
him down! :)
The Mini Lops are settled in and are really friendly. Arabia is now
overdue and ready to pop, and Cocaine delivered seven buns last night...
three broken blacks, one black, two chocolates and a broken chocolate! The kids have all the
older
Minis named now, and there's only four young ones without names so
far. Keep in mind when you see some of the names that are familiar to the
shows they watch on TV! (Can't remember where the heck June and Jackson
is from however ;)
I've also been listing more rabbits for sale as we need to make
more room. (So I will keep updating pics throughout the site, so watch
for updates!) It's always good to "clean barn"! We are however, getting
a few Hollands from Nicole too, so it's always nice to have some new
stuff to work with. Do I really need more rabbits?!? OF COURSE :)
